Tag Pac launches 3D prototyping software

By Jill Park Friday, 23 April 2010

Packaging artwork and pre-press production studio Tag Pac has launched a 3D production and online approval workflow system.

The Leeds-based firm has developed a system that allows clients to view their packaging online and use their own personal portal and give online approval or add their own annotations to the design.

Tag will return the file to 2D format before sending it to the printer.

"Managing expectations early on in the design process is critical to the way we work," said Tag Pac director Jonathan Milner.

"The only reason that artworks have traditionally been two dimensional is so that they fit through a printing press."

Earlier in the month Tag Pac became the first packaging artwork and prepress production studio to gain PS9000:2001 accreditation as part of ISO9001:2008.

This standard sets out a good manufacturing practice (GMP) framework for the pharmaceutical packaging supply industry to ensure that medicines are packaged to consistently high levels of quality.

Tag Pac, part of Tag Worldwide, can produce all aspects of artwork and prepress for all packaging formats and processes.
