Burgopak to pack Rennie Ice on new automated line

Sliding-pack specialist Burgopak has won a contract with pharmaceutical giant Bayer to pack the newly launched Rennie Ice range.

The Rennie packs will be the first contract carried out on the recently installed automated line at Brecon Pharmaceuticals in Wales.

Brecon was appointed contract packer for the task and will assemble the PocketPaks, which slide open to reveal 12 Rennie Ice tablets in two separate blisters.

Switzerland-based Bosch Sigpack Systems designed and built the fully automated line for the construction of Burgopak's case, which was previously constructed by hand.

Burgopak won the Rennie contract when the Bosch machine was being manufactured.

Burgopak head of automation Mark Symonds said: "It proves that Burgopak's automated solution for pharmaceutical products is reliable, of consistent quality and is available.

"It's a very important milestone because we can now deliver automated work."
